About Momentary
A small, carefully chosen slice of insurer price data, turned into something a person can use.
Why This Exists
Health insurers have published the prices they pay every doctor since 2022, but the files are hundreds of gigabytes of JSON that no patient can open. Momentary exists to turn a small, carefully chosen slice of that data into something a person can use: for a specific primary care doctor in California, what does a visit cost?
We deliberately publish fewer doctors than we could. Most rates in insurer files are attached to medical groups or specialty averages, and presenting those as a doctor’s own price would be misleading. We only list doctors whose rates are reported at the individual level, and we say where every number came from.
Who Runs It
The site is built and maintained by Momentary Labs Inc., the company behind the Momentary app, AI primary care with real doctors: unlimited visits, prescriptions, lab orders and referrals for a flat monthly fee. This site is free, has no accounts, and shows the same data whether or not you use the app. See our editorial policy for how that relationship is handled.
